Public Range Information
Our Public Pistol range is open to all public and members.
- The fee is $25.00 per person for non-members, $22 for Active Military only with ID and covers the use of BOTH the Rifle and Pistol ranges. The first child under age 12 is free, additional children are half price.
- There are 8 shooting bays
- Range distances: 71/2 yds. and 15yds.
- Chronographs are allowed.
- All our ranges are outdoors but with covered bench areas.
- We do not rent any guns nor sell any ammunition.
- The minimum age for children to be present is age 5 years.
- Steel cartridges are also allowed.
- Pellet guns are allowed on the range however no BB guns.
Minimum ages
Anyone wishing to shoot pistol must be accompanied by someone age 21 years or older. The minimum age to shoot rifles is 18 years without supervision.
We recommend a minimum age of 12 years for shooting pistols, 5 years for rifles. However, regardless of age everyone MUST be able to impact the berms. Range Safety Officers are available for any further questions.

Public Range is open 7 days a week
Monday 10am-2pm (last sign in 1pm)
Tuesday - Sunday 9am-4pm (last sign in 3pm)
Check in at the Office before going to the range.

Public Rifle range
Range Information
Our Newton Public rifle range is open to all public and members.
- The fee is $25.00 per person for non-members, $22 for Active Military only with ID and covers the use of BOTH the Rifle and Pistol ranges. The first child under age 12 is free, additional children are half price.
- Range distances: 25 yds., 50 yds., 100 yds., and 200 yds.
- There are 12 shooting bays
- Maximum caliber allowed on the Rifle range is a .460 caliber hunting rifle.
- AR's and muzzleloaders are allowed.
- Chronographs are allowed.
- All our ranges are outdoors but with covered bench areas.
- We do not rent any guns nor sell any ammunition.
- The minimum age for children to be present is age 5 years.
- Steel cartridges are also allowed.
- Pellet guns are allowed on the range however no BB guns.
Our 600 Yard Range is open once a month, January through July. These are competition shoots. NOTE: The Newton Public Rifle Range will be closed during these shoots, however the Peil Range will be open for rifle only.
